The Barnfield Estate project is a transformative development located at the edge of the Barnfield Estate in Greenwich. This initiative is set to provide affordable homes, significantly enhancing the local community and public spaces.

Our role involved comprehensive MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) modelling and coordination for this five-storey residential building, which features multiple residential apartments. Our services included:

  • HVAC Systems: Detailed modelling and integration of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Cable Containment: Accurate modelling of cable routes and containment systems to support the building's electrical infrastructure.
  • Drainage Pipework: Integration and coordination of drainage systems to ensure effective waste management and system functionality.
  • Wet Systems: Comprehensive modelling of wet systems to support various plumbing needs throughout the building.
  • Fire Sprinkler Systems: Integration and coordination of fire sprinkler systems to enhance safety and compliance with fire protection standards.

We employed Revit tools to create detailed models and conducted thorough clash detection to resolve potential conflicts early. Our team also facilitated design progress through regular meetings and produced walkthrough models to assist stakeholders in visualizing the project. The Barnfield Estate is part of the Greenwich Builds programme, aimed at delivering 1,750 new affordable homes across the borough. The project emphasizes sustainability, with a focus on zero operational carbon through high insulation, airtight envelope, triple-glazed windows, air-source heat pumps, heat recovery ventilation, and a large photovoltaic array. Our contributions were integral to the successful realization of this project, ensuring efficient and safe construction while enhancing the living environment for future residents.
